By the end of first week of school, we had confirmed that we want Jade to stay with this school.. or rather, Jade showed that she enjoyed school. She was always excited to go to school and wakes up early for school. But when we reached the school to check her temperature, she will start crying for me or daddy.

One little progress was that she wanted to sit on the chair provided to check her temperature and hands and feet! She usually finishes the food given to her in school. She tried to join in the music and dance. She follows her mate to go to the next session. She responses to her teachers instructions. She is begining to enjoy story telling session. She can say A - I. She is more confident...

We finally bought her uniform and she looks very smart in her uniform. See below for her photos!

Jade First Day In School - 1st June 2010, Tuesday

I was first worried that Jade would not want to wake up to go to school since she always wake up around 830-10am... but a week before school

starts, I had been telling her and counting down with her. I did tell her that we are going to school!

Finally the day came, 1st June 2010, Tuesday. She was excited as I brought her a pink dress which my aunt bought for her. She loves to wear dress! She was very happy and wanted to wear her shoes and go to school. Then she saw her bag. A black cat bag. She wanted to carry the bag herself too!

Anyway, we reached the school just nice for her to eat breakfast. Breakfast time is 8.30am. They were having pandan cake. Jade likes to eat cake... she finished it very quickly and we proceed to the Assembly area. There were already some teachers and schoolmates dancing, doing morning excercise. But Jade did not want to join in. Instead she walked around the school compound and asking me to open the gate to the indoor playground.

I had to carry her a few times to make her stay in the assembly area. The kids waited for everyone to assemble and they will say the pledge then. Nice...

Shortly it was playground time for Jade's playgroup. See below for the indoor playground photo. After that seesion, I 'disappeared' and left Jade with her teachers and classmates. Therefore no more photos...

Jade's latest update

1. After really trying super hard... We managed to wean Jade off bedtime latch on. We hung on for a week! n it really pays off. Now when Jade seems sleeply at around8-9pm, we will bring her to bed, give her a little breast milk, play with her a while, cuddle n carry awhile, sing a bit, and then we can put her onto bed to pat her to sleep.

Last time, we always have to struggle to get her to bed and she always demand to be latch on. Now I only let her taste a bit, sometimes dun need to drink... I will cuddle, carry and sing... I think this is so much better. I hope she can sleep in childcare easily too.. (this is another story.. haha)

2. Jade is trying to feed herself.. and is doing quite well.. I always gave her a spoon and bowl and she always make a mess.. until recently, she can aim really well. and she is eating happier too.. maybe because she finds it easier too? She usually says "Jade jade eat!" she will open mouth and say, "Ah UM" and start to chew her food... still she keep changing the spoon to her left hand. but she cant scoop well, so sometimes she uses her left hand to put the food into the spoon and take the spoon using right hand to her mouth...

3. Jade really detest her stroller... She will scream and yell, "help!! help!" as if someone trying to kill her and jump on her stroller... anyway i ordered a piglet stroller and is coming in 2weeks time, I hope she likes it.. else it is difficult to bring her anywhere... she is now 10kg.. n 82cm.. no change since 3wks ago...

4. Jade's teeth. four front teeth are out and the others are halfway through, now only the molars still no news... I guess it will be a horrific experience because she just gone through a round of teething of 4-5 teeth. they cut out of her gums at the same time causing her to have low fever, complete loss of appetite and super crazy bad mood. I spanked her a few times only thinking she is throwing tantrums.. mum ask me to feel her gums, then i realised her crankiness is due to teething and i felt so guilty...

5. Now her appetite is better... ate a lot in fact. so i try not to let her eat too much suddenly.. but good to know that she is OKAY!!!!!

6. today is her first day of childcare!!! at first Jade quite enjoy her breakfast, because i am with her. n she dun wan to join her school assembly, she walked about the cc, and keep pointing to their indoor playground. I am with her until they left the playroom abt 10plus. Teacher took them into their classroom and starts to play a bit and then change diaper. then they eat lunch. slightly before they eat lunch, jade starts to cry. too many kids crying... n that most of them are new. after lunch, the teachers bath them... n jade cried thro i think. n after that they went to the classroom to play n wait to drink milk... n i went on to pick up Jade. She didnt cry when she sees me. n say bye n threw flying kisses to the teachers. but she seems so glad to see me.. hiaz.. my baby.. i m very proud of her!!! jia you!! Jade napping since 2pm.. i think she is super tired

7. just last week, then we realised Jade knows chinese of her body parts. she knows eyes, nose, mouth, hair, head, chin, cheeks, teeth, eye brow, armpit, leg, toes, fingers... but i never teach them in chinese. n my mum usually talk to her in baby language, if any... one night i say to her, "close your eyes" in chinese n I thought, "opps she dun understand" but she really close her eyes, so we try the rest in chinese. She knows where is eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, head, hair, leg, hand... wow.. hehe

Jade drank 100ml of formulae milk!!

Make friso for Jade. I told her is chocolate milk. So I put a bit of coco powder to 'change' the original color. Ta-da~! chocolate milk! Jade drank 100ml!!!!! This is a record! She never drank past 90ml.

But sequently she would only drink 40-50ml. I wonder is it because the first time I offered to her in cup n straw n the other times are in milk bottle.

Tonight I will try to offer her in cup and straw again! Wish me gd luck.

Jade's latest update

Jade is currently 18mths going to 19mths on 23 May. :) She weighs 10.2kg and is 82cm tall. She loves to watch her KTV children song more than Disney playhouse programmes. She can hummed and some songs she can sing the first few words.

For example, "Three Blind Mice", her version is mice mice mice. "Rain Rain Go Away", she will sing rain rain. Sometimes, she sings Rain Rain GO.... Sometimes, she will say walk walk... and expect me to say, " No, rain rain, we cannot go walk walk." Other songs like "Hokey Pokey" and "When You Are Happy.." she will dance and sometimes she can follow the actions, say, she'll do "clap your hands", she will sing clap clap as she claps. The same for "nod your head", "stamp your feet", "Pull your ears". But she can only either say "clap clap" or "head", "nod nod" or "head" etc.

She also likes the "incy wincy spider", she thinks that the spider is playing peek aboo with her.

Jade cannot form sentence yet. She can say quite a handful of words but the most she is good at is "Please help". Everything and anything, she will "Please help". Daddy goes out of room, she also say "please help", she wants me to open the door and let her follow daddy. Sometimes she will say "open" or "open door" instead. When her things drop, she also say "please help", sometimes she will say "OH OH, drop!" depends!

But i think her favourite is "drink drink neh neh". She can say "drink drink", when she wants water or "milk" for milk. She also like to say "baobao", she wants to be carried and she will clap her hands and then open them to be carried. Sometimes she say "tangtang" when she wants to lay her head on our shoulder, sometimes means she wants to sleep. I am trying to teach her to say "sleep" instead. But she always frowned. Maybe she dont like to sleep..

She can greet almost everyone. mummy or mama, daddy or papa, ah ma, ah gong or gong gong, jek jek, jiu jiu,ah yi, yi po, ah chor...

She loves animals like dog, cat, mouse(yikes!!!), lion, rabbit, monkey, bear, pigs, turtle, fish etc... she also like dragons!!!! i'm not sure she likes fish because she eats fish or because her paternal grandma rears fishes. but whenever she sees fish, she will say "fish", paused a while and then "eat". she will do the eating expression.

she loves ice cream too! sometimes she will say "good good good".

she has her sense of fashion too. some days she cannot decide whether she wants to wear elmo or piglet suit, barney or hello kitty pants, rabbit or doggie blouse, whichever dress. she will take two in her hands and ask me to wear them. some times she will think, and i will ask her, " you want red or pink dress?" Being a very busy SAHM, i have no time to iron her dresses, as much as I really want to. Jade always chooses especially those that need a great ironing job ones.

she chooses her shoes too. sometimes she wont let me put her in stroller but when i let her choose her shoes, she will allow me to put her in the stroller and wear them. *phew*

One thing I really not too glad about my little princess is that she really cannot sit still during eating time. As long as she is outside or whenever there is another person in the house, she just wont sit still for her meal. She finishes her meal easily when there is only both of us alone. *sigh*We brought her outside for meals and always has to eat in a haste and it is really tedious. Jade, I hope you know how much we love you... Mummy is not complaining about you, Mummy is telling you how you behaved when you were a baby... and you will still be a baby when you grow up, whether you like it or not... ;P

I didnt update on a regular basis so everytime I update, it will be this long... haha.. and I m a bit hungry now.. so I must take some sweet stuff to replenish before I turn in...

Jade bite me again...

yesterday, Jade bit me and so caused daddy n me to be extremely angry. Hence, we decided that we have to stop latching on her to sleep at night and subsequent night waking feeds too. I have been to 'nice' or ....(cant find a suitable word) to her n daddy that in order to not wake daddy up, i just let her latch on in the middle of nights. and so i think resulted in her asking for 'neh neh' everynight till now.. (she is 18mths going to 19mths old) that means I have not been sleeping properly too...

last night was an ultimate battle. she screamed, cried and begged for neh neh, I gave in and guess what she bit me again. So that's it. Even daddy claimed that she asked for it. I even thought of letting her latch on at night till she is two.. Tears streaming down to her cheeks, she demanded for nehneh desperately. I knew she was sleepy but she refused to close her eyes and lay on bed cooperatively. She jumped on the bed angrily. Finally too angry with us, she insisted me to carry her. Ok, so I carried and sing her current favourite song, "three blind mice". Tried to put her on bed a few times but she woke up angrily, crying, asking for neh neh. so I have to carry her and swing her a few times. She totally rejected daddy so he had not choice but to sit on the bed and watch. (NOT FAIR!!! haha... maybe she knew daddy has to work the next day)

I didnt know how many times I saw her closed eyes and put her down on bed and resulted her in waking up... yes the vicious cycle nearly drove me crazy. But, one last time, she glared at me reluctantly and turned over with her back facing me, she finally fall asleep! Yeah~

It was crazy! I think we struggled for nearly one hour or more... It was mad. tiring~ to think that we are supposed to do this for the coming days... latching to sleep is definitely a breeze, minus the bites and taking my nipples for granted.

tonight, we tried the same thing while we were watching Shrek on channel 5, Jade started to get restless. Daddy suggested giving her some cereal for putting her to bed which she totally rejected it. Keep asking for nehneh, and i suggested giving her some warm formula milk. I made her some enfalac which in the end she drank 30ml of the 250ml... Great! She held the bottle herself as Daddy carried her, rocking her and even singing her "three blind mice". Thought she gave in, then she suddenly sat up from her cradle position. Baffled, I took over from daddy and swinging gently, singing to her again...

As usual, she ask for nehneh, cannot be put down. Tried a few times. But tonight seemed easier. She was not as angry as yesterday. She was in fact more cooperative. She insisted that I carried her. Even I sat on the bed, carrying her, she was fine. I cannot ask for more. I think this was in fact very much better than i thought. She fell asleep in my arms a little before 10pm.

the new problem now is if she wants to be carried to sleep. this is also very tiring... she is now 10.2kg... carry a 10kg a few mins is okay... but not too long.. mummy will be very tired.

I hope tomorrow will be easier... and please dont wake up tonight darling, Mummy love you~!

Jade n Jabs

Jade had two jabs ytd. A booster n a flu jab. Didnt cry, very brave. Doc Zainal suggested to us to start potty training. He says no sweet n no Milo for now. Need to let the grandmas know as they r very keen to give sweets to Jade.�

Now she is down with fever. :(�

Jade n Raisin

Jade's been snacking on raisins since starting of this week. My friend gave her 1yr old boy some raisins in bread pudding which prompts me to start giving her some dry fruits for a change.

she's loving it and can exchange a latch on session with raisins! but after a while, she will still come back for a mini latch on. must be her itchy gums!!!

i was wondering if snacking on too raisin is bad for toddlers. and below are some of the findings from the internet. i didnt know i m posing such risk to Jade! usually i does research on the food that i m going to introduce to her but this is really negligence on my part.

positive
healthy snack as it is a good source of iron, fibre and potassium, and other antioxidents

negative
tooth decay(if left stuck in teeth), may cause cavities
potential choking hazards

suggestions
some sites suggest to soak in water and puree the raisins, add to cereal or other food.
take organics raisins(as those that are not organics may contains pesticides)
wait till child is three-four years old, they can chew n swallow better.
brush teeth after a raisin snacking, or rinse it down with water to prevent it sticking on teeth

Jade n breastfeeding

i m still breastfeeding my girl whom is 17mths old this week. its really despairing to quit it!

coming this week, i will try again to cut down her latching on session. now is abt 3 times a day n many times in the night... guess it is due to her teething and so it disrupts her sleep again!!! why does it has to happen when she is sleeping through the night!!! last time when i dun let her latch on, she will just whine a bit and sleep on my tummy, now she will cry n cry n cry.. then as usual i cant bear for daddy to be distrupted in his sleep, so i have to latch her on again!!!! coming this week, i dun care!!!! sorry daddy!

actaully i m very confused. should i stop bf in the day session first? when only two of us alone at home, there is nothing much we can do. morning, clean up, eat breakfast, watch disney channel(word world, mickey mouse club house, handy manny), go market, nap(latch on), wake up to eat lunch, rest n play toys, bathe, play, nap(latch on), wake up to play, watch tv,, eat tea break if still early, play again, eat dinner, wait for daddy to come back and play, latch on (when nothing to do)

hiaz... see... basically she has nothing much to do.. even when i try to teach her stuff, we can only focus for about 10-15 mins, then we play cooking, shapes, doctor, drawing... try to offer her water bottle to drink, she will push away angrily. offer her snacks? she eat a bit and then she will insist to latch on.

last evening, i offer her some raisins. and she is like hooked on it! keep asking for it.. but after awhile she still wants the breast milk... guess i have to be really consistent on my part.

at least if she latched on, she will nap.. for goodness sake, i really dunno how to let her sleep if i dun let her latch on. guess i need professional help???? i wonder if parent craft in thomson medical center can advise me on this?

jade is going to cc in june when she is 20mth old. should i wean her totally off my breast before cc? or let her latch on in the day and night? i really really want to say gd bye with night latching. argh.... am i over-pampering both my both precious!!!???

until now my menses has not come back yet which is still normal as per my gynea. i m going to see him this april. maybe i will fix an appt with the parentcraft too.

Feeding jade n friends

Recently jade would eat if I placed her solar hello kitty n Donald duck on her high chair feeding table. Sometimes she will pretends to feed them one by one n then herself. She will scoop the spoon n put at their mouth n say Ah Mum mum. Yes yes coaxing her friends to eat. Just like the. Way I coax her to eat.

Just yesterday jade invited a new friend to share her meals - Minnie mouse! She will hug her in her right arm n feed her with her left hand! I hope jade is not left handed!

But when she is outside she can accept dining with just us. :)

Usually I feed jade first, before daddy is back from work. She usually will finish her meal but when daddy is back to eat dinner. She will say Mum mum mum mum. Or Eat eat! Then ah mum mum!

Mr daddy will ask me why is his precious still hungry! Did I feed her well?! I think some how Jade had this habit to eat again when we adults r eating. I dun like it. I see it as a bad habit. But at my mil house this is usually what is happening. N then now it is also happening in my house.

I try to give her some of her unfinished food. I keep it aside so when she wants to eat our adult food. I feed her her food. Hopefully this will stop her habit. Usually this works.

But my neighbours say if she wants to eat. I should let her eat. Sometimes we eate outside food or sometimes the adult food is too oily or salty. I reAlly dun like to expose jade to those unhealthy food or food not toddler-friendly. I took pains to prepare her food, I just want her to stay healthy for now. As much as I can control. So I m also quite pananoid during cny when my mil ask if jade can eat marshmarrow n it is soft.

N my mum also tempting jade with the cny goodies sometimes. Sian.

Sometimes I hope people should respect our decision. My neighbours thinks other parents that brought their own toddler food is exaggerating. I think they r responsible parents whom care for their babies.

Although I do let jade eat outside food. I usually let her eat porridge, pototoes, eggs, bread, hot cakes, beancurd etc As mildly flavoured as possible. Anyway toddlers kidney can't take in too Much salt. Seasoning r not nutritious. They do more harm n good.

Learning Kidz @ Hougang Green

Finally we have decided to place Jade at learning kidz. Hougang green is a totally new branch. I have many worries too.

Firstly jade is not going to the cc in Sengkang is due to the long waiting list. And those that might b available is inaccessible.

I have to give up faith education partly is because I dun really like the Chinese teacher for playgroup there. When I ask questions I wondered why the principal n teachers need to hesitate to answer. I ask them what does playgroup do, so they keep emphasing they usually play n teachers will talk to them. Actaully I m ok. But I heard a Chinese teacher speaking in incorrect mandarin to a toddler. I was shocked. Maybe she is a assistant teacher. I dunno.

We nearly paid for the registration fee in faith. Alvin's colleague recommended his daughter's cc in serangoon, just a few blks away my in law house. We went to have a look. It was very small compared to faith n other cc we had visited. It was situated in the hdb void deck. Fully air-conditioned. Small room for the playgroup. But we liked it. The teachers seems very friendly n they know their stuffs. As usual I asked hthe questions I had asked all the cc. This senoir teacher handed my enquiries very well. The kids there looks very happy. We like it. But it was full. The fee is abt 650 before subsidy. So we r under waiting list. Went to the web, there's not much comment on this cc. We like it more because all the kids looks so happy.

Then we went to kovan branch to take a look. More expensive n in accessible to us. N full house. So we paid the registration fees for the hougang green branch. Kids at kovan looks as happy too. So I hope this will b the same for the new branch.

New branch means newly hired teachers. I hope they trained their teachers the same way so that jade will benefit too. The menu is abt the same as other cc but they r serving cordial drinks which we can request to change to plain water.

At hougang green they have indoor playground. Fully air con. I hope they do the sanitize work well. The renovation is still on-going. We can only view the place in end march. N the cc starts in mid April. Jade starting in may.

I am trying to make food similar to cc so that jade Can adjust to their food easier. I also changing her napping and meals timing schedule to the cc.

What else do I need to do to prepare her for full day cc?

I already give up to wean her off totally. Maybe I will just latch her before n after school. Maybe she will drink fm from cup in school. Hopefully.

It's just two months away. I m very excited!!!!!

It's time for jade to learn from teachers, play with friends, learn to share. Jade is usually a friendly n happy baby. I hope going to school can make her more confident n independant. Hopefully they can toilet train her n teach her to nap by herself , feed herself.

Recipe: Peachy Milkshake

Ingredients

1. 1 peach (peeled & cut into smalle pieces)

2. 30ml formula or breast milk (add more as required)

Method

1. Put the peach pieces and milk into the blend. Voila!

2. To thicken the puree, you may add plain rice cereal (optional)

Extra

For babies just starting on solids, you may want to steam/boiled/baked the fruit for a while to break down the fibres for easy digestion before you blend it with milk.

For older kids, can replace with chilled full cream milk. Add more peaches as u wishes!

Peaches are high in vitamins and good for babies with constipation!

Jade's so smart...

Jade was playing with the fan I thought. She mumbled 'fan'. As usual, I'll say 'no. Don't play with the fan. ' she went on pressing the button a few times until she is satisfied then she turnedn look at me, "nehneh(breastmilk) , please."

Usually I'll throw her on the mattress n ask her to find her piglet while I adjust the fan n close the door to latch her on.

Somehow what she did just now stunned me. Before 'playing' with the fan, she gave me some kisses. This makes me feel the more that she can plan or expresed her feeling.

She kissed me, adjusted the fan(mimic me), then tell me what she wanted. Suddenly I feel so touch.

Jade is now 15mths. Walking and eating three solid meals ,a teabreak (usually consist of fruits smoothie), a morning nap latch on. Now she wakes up once at night not necessary to be latch on. Sometimes she just wantto sleep on my tummy. So sweet right.

19 Oct 09 :: Jade is finally teething!

yesterday when i gave Jade some jin feng san in the morning, I felt some sharp thing on her gums. Yes! I felt two teeth going to protrude frm her lower gum. I can see two more coming out from the lower sides but cannot really feel it.

I have been anticipating for Jade's teeth to make their appearance. Finally after a long wait... this friday is her birthday. According to my MIL, jade is like her dad whose teeth made their appearance when he was one.

I gave her some gripe water and rubbed jin feng san on her gums.. still Jade is sorta throwing tantrums and her schedule now is quite OFF.

Jade is 9mths and 3rd week old!

we went to see her pd today to get her accessed and to treat her flu. daddy passed his bugs to her! ytd she woke up almost every hour.. but today slightly better.. that's why i m here blogging.. her height and weight is of the 75percentile.. somehow she still looks so slim... dr zainal assures that she is alright so no worries..

now she can pull to stand and move side way... tries to stand up from her high chair and even on the play mat, sofa, or anything that she thinks can give her support!

she loves to eat tofu, fish, avocado, sweet potatoes, potatoes, pumpkin etc! feeding her outside is more easy as she can eat plain porridge or mash/bake potatoes.. sometimes i let her eat bean curd without sugar! but my mum says is not good for baby.. so we tries to minimise that! though i hope she can eat more 'table' food, but i dun wan to rush her to accept outside food as u know.. msg, salt and seasoning!!!! i try to feed her 'better' home cook food as much as possible.

now jade usually drinks breastmilk to sleep. i am not so keen to wean her now as jade now doesnt really drink in the day.. i m missing the bonding liao lo... somehow i like the way that she is dependent on me.. at least she needs me to fall asleep..

BUT!!! when she is not sleepy, she can ALLOW anyone to carry her and then she dun want to come back to mummy~~!!!! *sob sob* people is telling me that it is good that she is not shy and she is sociable...

SOS!

1. anyone has good idea how to prevent babies from standing up on their high chair? jade is doing this stunt everyday and i m hurting my back by putting her back to the sitting position!

2. jade seems to be super easily distracted. i cant read to her!!!!!

At 6mth, Jade is eating at least once cereal and she still cannot sit by herself. and We need to assist her to sit. However, she is able to sit longer. Her fave activity is going shopping... She is napping 2-3times a day if daddy is not around or there is no visitor. Can call MAMA, sometimes PAPA.

By 7mth, Jade is finally sitting by herself. We were still worried that she is taking a long time to sit. One day, I was still telling hubby that MIL's comment about Jade's not sitting is getting on my nerves. After an afternoon nap, Jade was able to pull to a sitting position. And she sat on the playmat playing her play gym... *cute*!!

8mth!!!! Jade pulled to a standing position with the help of our ikea sofa! and mattress if we were in our bedroom. She can move side way too!!!

Mummy tries really hard to prepare 2-3 semi-solid for Jade. Jade loves porridge, be it brown rice, white rice and grounded shi shen brown rice porridge.. Her favourite is potato in any form. She also likes carrot, sweet potato and pumpkin. She really dislikes baby food jar and apple in any form. Occassionaly she is acceptable to banana, pear and peaches. She also likes fish!!! ANYONE KNOW IF IT IS OKAY TO EAT FISH EVERYDAY FOR HER AGE?

jade actually has her own set of schedule when daddy is at work. it goes like this:

8.30am- trying very hard to get up. she will wriggle around and kick mummy, forcing mummy to wake up.

9.00am- both mummy & jade are awake FINALLY! jade gets changed out of pajamas and mummy goes clean up and brush teeth (if jade permits, mum gets to bathe too!).

9.30am- jade plays on her playmat with many many toys waiting for mummy to prepare her breakfast cereal. Usually, she will eat heinz rice cereal with breastmilk/FM or Nestle brownrice cereal with milk. Occassionally with pureed fruits.

10.30am- should have finished breakfast. Jade gets to play with her toys on the mat AGAIN!

11.00am- napping time.

12.00am- usually if jade wakes up by this time, she gets to play with her toys on mat AGAIN! until mummy prepares her SHI SHEN Brown rice with FM.

1.00pm- Jade gets to eat lunch. Jade gets to play with her toys on the mat AGAIN for 20-30mins!

2.00pm- Mummy bathes her and play with her on bed until she is sleepy...

3.00pm- maybe Jade is in dreamland playing.

4.00pm- Jade wakes up and mummy plays with her on bed and then gets to play with her toys on the mat AGAIN while waiting for her tea break to be prepared. Mummy usually make pureed or mashed veggie or fruits.

5.00pm- Jade gets to play with her toys on the mat AGAIN until sleepy.

6.00pm- Jade naps for 30mins. Mummy plays with her on the bed and then gets to play with her toys on the mat AGAIN while waiting for her dinner to be prepared.

7.00pm- Jade eats porridge with veggie cooked with meat broth or mashed potato/sweet potato or SHI SHEN brown rice porridge with FM.

7.30pm- Mummy bathes Jade again! Mum plays with Jade on the bed and sing song until she is sleepy. Jade will NAP until daddy is back!

8.00pm-9.00pm- sometimes Jade accidentally wakes slightly earlier. sometimes she wakes exactly the same time, daddy steps into the house.

10-11pm- Jade will make sure Daddy plays with her until she is sleepy then mummy and daddy can sleep. Mummy will nurse her until she pushes mummy away to look for daddy. then daddy will rock her to dreamland.

** when Jade naps or sleeps, mummy will nurses her.

recently Jade wants daddy to carry and rock her to sleep which is a good thing for mummy. Usually mummy will nurses her, rock her, pat her, sing song blah blah... daddy already snoring though he trys very hard to keep himself awke to accompany mummy. now he has to rock his precious to sleep before joining mummy on the bed lo. but NOT FAIR! coz Jade falls asleep very fast on daddy's arm!

4mth: Happy Chatty Little Jade

Jade's been quite chatty recently.

Sometimes she can self-entertain herself on her fisher-price seat, talk to the cat, dog and chick... they are her friends. Sometimes I bring up her car seat friends- Ms Butterfly, so that she has more choice. And Jade really like Ms Butterfly, because she will grab her wings and stuff them into her little mouth. So that's when I need to treat her stuffy friends to a detox spa. She also has a little baby piglet which Jade always suck her nose. Hubby says that maybe Jade thought that the nose is my nipple... *argh*

So I always treat Jade's friends with a thorough detox spa in my beloved washing machine... keke...

last Sunday, we brought Jade to BHG and she was so excited that she kept babbling. There was a moment she was quiet. A stranger peeked at her. Of all sudden, Little Jade babbled. So this sneaky stranger was caught off guard with a shocked expression. I think I saw her jumped. Then we quickly pushed the stroller away. Jade was attracting too much attention with her chattiness...

Its not that we seldom bring her out, usually I bring her to the Cold Storage and other shops at Compass Point. Its only these two weeks that Jade started to 'talk' a lot. Sometimes to herself, sometimes to her 'friends' and sometimes to us(her family) and sometimes to stranger.... Sometimes she can talke non-stop for very long. Maybe I should time her...

When Jade likes or dislike you, you will know it easily. Up to now, she 'scolded' two persons. One is my mom's neighbour and the other is a lady at NEL. out of nowhere, she 'shouted' at the lady when she was packing her stuffing. Maybe she made too much noise.

She laughed when some of my friends played with her. Jade likes them. Jade will giggle and sometimes more hilariously. She likes her daddy and grandma(both side) and uncles(both side) best! Actually I think she likes whoever that gives her lots of attention!!!!! I think she only likes me when I feed her... hmmm...

Basically Jade's a happy chatty babe.

Finally managed to squeeze in some time to blog.

My Little Jade finally can flip on 19-02-3009, thursday. I went off to the kitchen for a while and when I returned to the living room, little Jade whom was supposed to lie on her back on her LG playmat, was on top on her little baby piglet. I was too shocked to take any photos.. but it was a delightful scene. so cute!

So I thought... maybe she didnt flip.. maybe I was the one whom placed her on her tummy. So... I placed her on her back again. This time she elegantly flipped in front of me.

She's been trying to flip since so long ago.. I think when she just passed her full month, she's been trying very hard to flip. Finally! I felt so happy for her as she always look so angry and made angry cries when she could not flip.

Happiness do not last long. A few days later after she managed to flip more easily, her legs began to push herself very roughly. Hmm... I guess, she is tryin to crawl???? Sometimes, I hope my little girl is not the impatient type!!! Still... she began to turn into an 'angry' baby when she could not lift herself up.... But sometimes she managed to move like a caterpillar..

I wonder when she can crawl. Today is 12-03-2009, two weeks later, Little Jade will be 5months.

baby Jade sleeps around 7-7.30pm everyday. She wakes up at 1.30-2.30am for her feed, then sleeps again till 4.30-5.30am for the next feed. She then wakes up around 6.30-7am again...

she used to sleep for an hour in the day after every feed. then reduce to 30mins... then 15mins... today, she only nap once for an hour!!! she just feel asleep 20mins ago... finally my break.

pls! if u have any great ideas on how get your baby to nap, pls share with me! i would be so grateful.

suggestions received:-
1. get baby to sleep in sarong in the day
2. make the room dim for nap.

Sleep

Jade's smile frequently during her sleep or when she is going to sleep. She gives satisfied grin when she is full. Initially she sleeps after every feed and sleeps for 1.5-2hrs. When she is reaching 1 month old, she sleeps about 30mins-1hr after which feed in the day. Usually, at night she sleeps around 7.30pm and wakes at 1am. She sleeps at at least 3-5 hours each time at night.

Feeding

120ml-125ml. Prefers breastfeeding than drinking from bottled EBM or FM. Drinking Mamax Gold(Maybe changing soon.)

Others:

Jade's able to move her head from left to right lying on her back/or tummy down. She makes new noises too. She's able to ficus on objects but on very short period. She can recognise mummy & daddy best. She likes bright colors object.

Birth Story - Jade Tern Gek Teng 唐玉庭

This is going to be a long long post!

At wk 38, Dr Lim assured the usual, "the placenta's ok, baby's healthy, fluid's enough... etc" Before we left his room, he bid goodbye, "I'll see you next week or anytime in labour." As usual, we left the clinic happily to anticipate Jade's arrival.

God knows, at wk 39 when we visit Dr Lim, we were informed that my amniotic fluid was low and was told to do a detail scan asap. And we did it the next day, which was wednesday 22-Oct-08. The detail scan confirmed that my amniotic fluid was too low. We have to decide to do a caesarean delivery by Fri as Dr Lim adviced that the rate for induced delivery is low and we cannot afford to wait for another week. And so we scheduled to do a caesarean delivery with epidural the next day, 23-Oct-08, Thurs, 12pm.

I did not like the idea being knocked out and letting someone cut up up when I was unconscious. Therefore, I was glad that Dr Lim suggested epidural and I could be awake throughout the procedure and I can even breastfeed after the operation wthout feeling drowsy. He assured me that with epidural the pain is more bearable. I wondered how true....

Dr Lim had an operation at 10.30am and I was scheduled right after that. I had to fast after 5am!! I couldn't sleep well at night as I was very nervous. I had never undergo the knife before. This will be major one.

23-Oct-08, Thurs, 4am: Alvin woke me up to drink a mug of mummy's milk. I was too tired to note whatever brand it was.

6.45am: We woke up to bathe! It was really a great shower! *Damned I missed it so much!*

7.40am: Finally reached the reception to register.

9am plus: Hmm... wondered why it took us so long to be brought to my ward. We had to fill up some forms and listen to some explanation. I had chosen 4-bedder but was upgraded 2-bedder. *Nice room. Though not the renovated one. pretty cool as my initial room mate was off to another ward. It was almost like 1-bedder. The minus point was that I could not dare to sleep at night alone!!!!

10.15am: the nurse applied a kind of cream which will make me pass motion. It was just another horrible experience! I was told to hold off for another 15 mins if possible. But within 3 mins, I rushed off to the toilet!! *argh*

10.30am: I always thought hospital staffs are not so punctual afterall. As I was earlier promised the 'poo poo' cream will be given to me at 10am. This time, the labour ward nurse with a stern face(the only not-so-friendly staff I had encountered at TMC) came to 'escort' me to the operation theatre, greeting me with the scary operation bed. I was told that I would be next after the 10.30am mummy. Oh my god.. that this time, Dr Lim must have been preparing to slice her the way he was going to slice me up. *gulp!*

11am: I was separated from Alvin!!! From the reception, all the way up 10.30am when the labour staff came, he was with me. I was not that scared. But once, we were separated. I was shivering with fear! I was such a coward! He was made to wait till I had been sliced open at the family lounge(I think). I laid on the operation bed, waiting outside the operation theatre while the staff cleared the room and waiting for Dr Lim and Dr Liew( the anesthesiologist). From where I was, I could see the clock. I just keep looking at the time and wondered when it would be my turn. I thought it should be pretty fast...

The anesthesiologist came and described the procedure for epidura. I am a chicken when it comes to injection too! I just nodded my head and gave a faint smile. He patted my shoulder and asked me to relax! * How to relax? I had been waiting there like nobody's business and being separated from Alvin and going to be jabbed on my back and even though I am super scared and frail, I had to push my back against the jab?? and then being cut open... will Jade felt intruded? Will she be shocked? I must had think too much!!!*

Finally, someone came, she smiled and said something like the operation room was ready, now they were just waiting for Dr Lim to come. A couple more staff came and pushed me to the so-called ready room. Dr Liew came shortly. I sat up, he cleaned my back with a super cold antiseptic lotion. This made me shivered non-stop. The coldness hit me harder when he injected the epidural into my back. I had never shivered so voilently before. It was one more bad experience for this caerean operation! I only yearned to see Alvin and Jade quickly.

Somehow Dr Liew knew I was very nervous. Guess my heartbeat betrayed me. I could not talk much, though he was trying to be nice and kept assuring me that it was okay and asked me to relax. I could still feel pressure and some sensation but not the pain so he asked me not to give big reaction else my husband will panick and thought that I was in great pain or discomfort. I wanted very much to laugh as I am really feeling discomfort from the shivering. Anyway, the shivering was normal, I was told, but I did not feel at ease.

After much waiting, I lost in time! Before, I cursed silently again.. Dr Lim made his appearance! His usual assuring smile and greeted me good morning. I smiled back and said 'Hi". Then he gave a serious face and told me that he was going to draw a line on my bikini line. I would really appreaciate if he quickly do what he had to do and give me back Alvin.

Dr Lim pressed my tummy a few times and I think he slice my bikini line when he instructed the labour staff to bring my husband to me as he was going to deliver my baby!!! * Finally! I felt so touched! After all the shivering and waiting, Jade's coming out finally!*

Alvin came in and was really shocked to see me shivering, of which, Dr Liew promptly explained about the side effects and that I really will not feel any pain. I grabbed his hand and felt better. Jade's really coming. Dr Liew pushed my upper abs when Dr Lim gave a signal. In a short while, Jade's out. Dr Lim got Alvin to count in 8s two or three times before he cut off her imblical cord. A while more, we heard Jade's cries. I could have cried. I think I must haven used up most energy on feeling scared and nervous. I felt really spent and hungry. *haha*

Jade was being cleaned before she was thrown onto my chest for us to take photo. Alvin could have cried too, but he told me that he must have felt more happy than any other feelings.

Dr Liew even complimented Alvin's smile and said that he seldom sees father smiles so nice and happy. Hmm... Maybe the other daddys are feeling stressed and nervous like their wifes? I could only smile and felt more light-hearted when Alvin and Jade's with me...

I couldnt really sleep well at night as Baby Jade seems to be practising karate kicks and punches in my womb. They do cause some discomfort and sometimes even pain. Her kicks are so powerful today that I wonder if it is a good idea to enrol her to Teawondo or Karate. hehe.. Me and Alvin want her to at least take up a martial art be it Chinese kungfu(following Uncle Andy's footstep), Taewondo(following Uncle Wisely's footstep) or Karate (following Uncle Pat's footstep). Back to the story, sometimes her movements are so vigorious like I wonder if it is the so-called contractions??? I saw movements on my tummy so I guess its my baby shifting herself and not contractions right?

When I told mum about Jade's movements, she mocked and said, "She don't want to stay in the fatty tummy. It must be very cramped inside." yah, my tummy is supposed to be cramp! but fatty?! *hrumpf* this is my first baby... of coz my womb is not too stretched and seasoned.

Last week and this week, Jade's daddy is working night shift. As my tummy is getting bigger and bigger, moreover, his friends' been telling him that since Jade is already 2.7kg, she may popped out anytime. This really worries us. *sweat*

But I hope she can stay inside for at least another week as my mum has hurt her shoulder and has not recovered and I felt really bad. She was helping us to wash and tan Jade's clothes which I think that is why it takes so long for her to recover. I tried to help but she scolded me and say if anything happen to me, that would be worst as no one is at home to help. Rightly.. a lady in her mid forties with sprained shoulder and a frail pregnant woman.

Anyway, today mum has helped me washed the last batch of Jade's stuff and here's some photos of her cuties:

Her playpen has been set up. Playpen's a gift from Aunties MeiHui, Angel, Germaine and Uncle Alex. Its a bit messy though. But the mattress sheets and pillow sheets and stuff will be nicely put up before she and me discharged frm the hospital... still some more days to go..

geez.. i think that's all for today.. I am kinda sleeply. *yawnz*

And don't forget to stock the freezer and cupboards with easy to prepare meals for when you return home!

My baby..

At week 36, your baby is around 46 cm and weighs 2.5 kg. She has beautiful eyes and her head has dropped into your pelvic cavity. By week 40, she's completely ready to be born, although she's unlikely to arrive on the due date. Only 5% of babies give their parents this satisfaction!

I went to see Dr Lim on tuesday. I was told by him that my water retention is not too bad, even though I felt that my swollen fingers and toes are quite sore. Mum mocks that I am just fat and is not due to water retention.

Another thing I am concerned is my heavy v. discharge. It is too wet and Dr Lim did another test with my sample. We will only know the results on our next visit which is two weeks later.

As usual, he looked at my protein level from the urine test, he would advice, "rest 8-9 hours a day even if you are not tired." which is what I did recently. I think I rest more then 9hours... hmmm i still need MORE rest. Mum is very nice to me. I didnt do any house work and sometimes hubby or mum bought my breakfast. but i try to take a stroll in the evening or go out for lunch to walk about.

As we took the scan, Doc announced Jade to be 2.7kg, which is normal to big for the baby same period as her. So I REALLY have to cut down on sugary sweets stuff and eat more protein and veggie! other than that, he said everything is ok and see us 2 wks later. haha.

He wrote us a letter for admission in case Jade's decided to arrive early. Symptoms like water bag burst, menses-like red discharge, severe tummy pain we have to call the emergency. I hope I heard everything right... coz I am having very bad memory since pregnancy...

And as usual, we left the clinic merrily. The wait for Jade's arrival is filled with excitement and slight fear. I wonder if I can really handle the newborn. Hopefully Jade is cooperative and mummy-friendly.

This week, my mum is exceptionally eager and she helps me washes Jade's clothes, napkins and towels etc. She even asks us to get the confinement herbs ASAP. Maybe she is anticipating Jade's early arrival, though we told her that Doc says that Jade may stick to the EDD which is end oct.

There's things which we havent buy yet:

1. J&J baby wash & lotion & oil

2. nail cutter (dunno which brand to get) - maybe pigeon

3. Home Slipper ( Mum says I need this for confinement)

4. nipple cream (dunno which one to buy. Read in some books that we can also squeezed some milk and apply on the nipple and air dry. This is good for sore/cracked nipples.)

5. Baby comforter ( we will be using play pen for the time being as we may be shifting. After the shift, we may get a cot.)

6. Disposable Diapers ( for night use. I also dunno what brand to buy too. Mum says that drypers is good enough, it did not give my baby bro any problem. Maybe diff baby diff kind of sensitivity and preference.)

Jade's been receiving gifts from Mummy's friends and relatives...

1. Urban Walker - Aqua. - gift from Great Aunt Catherine & Great Uncle-in-law Brandon

2. Fisher Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker. Gift from Great Aunt Michelle.

3. Mummy's spree & online shopping from Babymallonline, Jshoppers, SMH forum bulk purchase/spree etc. Mummy bought some wash clothes, giraffe bibs, unisex rompers, socks etc.

4. Courtesy Gifts of tollyjoy bottles from Auntie Judith! Now Jade has so many colours to choose from! The avent bottle was given by the antenantal course with Mrs Wong from TMC. and Daddy bought Jade the pacifier...

5. Jade's toileteries! Some were sample packs. Mummy is going to buy some J&J as recommended by Mrs Wong. She commented that Pigeon is too bubbly, may not be so good for baby's skin. Maybe Mummy will use the kodomo herself. kekeke.... Just remembered, Mummy has not bought the Avent Barrier Cream yet. cost abt $17, was highly recommended by Mrs Wong.

Here's some bottles, pigeon detegent(to wash baby's clothes and hand-me-down), her stroller's fan, mattress cover, cotton wool etc. most of these and baby's basic were bought from Cheong Choon.

6. Daddy & Mummy bought these from Mrs Wong. The bath towel is supposed not to get moulds & the swaddle blanket will not flared? ** i forgot what is the word she used. anyway, they are supposed to be of very good quality and baby-friendly!

7. Gift from Auntie Daylily aka Pei Ling. very lovely pink set.

8. Grandma Sandy found this long lost yet brand new ThermoScan at Great Grandma house in Tampines. Mummy got this from dunno where and has forgtten about it, until Grandma Sandy dig this out for Jade. Its never been use and Mummy has tested it to be in perfect condition. Heng ah, don't need to spend on the expensive thermometer. A pigeon's one cost about $70 too..

9. actually Jade's still got a box of baby's stuff from my in laws' friend. It was really a boxful of baby girl's basics, very pretty pair of princess shoes, napkins, rompers etc! Mummy will find some time to take the photo...

10. Also Great Grandma has handmade some dresses for Jade. They are really lovely but Mummy has yet to take the photo too. Grandma Sandy bought the baby essentials like the ru yu oil, lots of towels, handkies, some mittens, some dresses....

11. I got a hand-me-down Avent pump for spare from Grandma Sandy's friend, though i will be getting a manual avent pump.

I wonder if I talk to my baby everyday, counting down the days and weeks with her, will make her arrival day more predicable. What I am really thinking is that I want my baby to arrive on the wk39. Not too early or too late. Since last week, I have been telling Jade, we have 'how many' days and 'how many' weeks more. Hope it works.

I have also been trying to tell Jade that "when mummy is pushing, you must help too." Hoping that her assistance will make my labour easier.

I heard Mrs Wong mentioned a few times about birth plan. And I wondered what the hell is it? hehe... arent our gynea supposed to guide us through and advises us? so we can make some decisions ourselves.. in a way... see below.. I didnt know I have to think about the below questions. Hopefully we will be well-prepared to go into labour. Attending Mrs Wong's antenantal class definitely prepares us for labour. The rest is up to ourselves. RELAX!!! I still have 11-12 wks to go...

i m now staying with my parents. both our parents house are quite small and restuarant and hotels are out of budget as my hubby has lots of relatives. and was advice not to book chalets as the environment is not baby-friendly.

is it feasible to have lunch buffet at my mil house and a dinner buffet at my mom's house? is it weird? anyone did this before?

i am finally in my third trimester. 2nd trimester just happened too fast. And I merely remembered that I was busying participating in some sprees and shopping trips. I had bought many pink clothings and some giraffes bibs. I had wanted to post my victory online but was too lazy to take photos.

Some friends had given me some new and used baby stuff. I must thanked them as it would be a great help financially. Currently, I am getting hubby to cut cost on our expenses and then I realised that I am spending more than usual. Maybe because I am still working, and I want to buy things for my baby with my own $$$. I am planning to stop working in mid Sep to anticipate for the arrival of my baby Jade! And may stop working for at least 6mth to 1yr. I am trying to make a clear goal.

Now I have been telling Jade to wait until 10-12 wks later to arrive. By then I would be in wk 38-40. I figured out that I should be it more precise. Tonight I will tell Jade to wait till 11 wks later, which will be wk39. It is not too late right? The full term is wk 40. But baby is fully developed by wk 37. Now I am counting down with Jade and hubby everyday.

We have just bought a wardrobe for our room. Since moving to toapayoh to stay with my parents, we have been throwing our clothes all over the place, on the boxes, on the floor etc. Today the wardrobe will come in and we will continue to pack our clothes. there are a lot of unwanted clothes, which we never sorted in SengKang before moving over. And me.. being pregnant, I have so many clothes that I cannot wear. I have to pack them aside. I will empty a cabinate so that I can put baby's clothings and whatever there. I had bought some very pretty dresses and onsies for Jade but the basic everyday wear is still pending. We should be getting by next week or by 19th Aug(Gynea visit day) whereby I will spend whole day shopping for most of baby's stuff.

This week there is Baby Fair at Takashimaya. We are going to get a suitable baby cot there. Alvin wants a white one. A friend told me that white color is painted one. Then Alvin answered back even the brown or oak ones have lacquered painted on. I dont mind white is very pretty..

I wanted to get a playpen. it would serve good purpose when Jade is there to visit her grand parants. Or maybe we can bring it along to whereever we go.. for example to Jade's grandparents' house, my grand mother's house or chalet?? hehe... What's exactly the purpose for playpen?

today dear told me that he woke up in the middle of the night due to my snoring.. :( I never snored before I was pregnant. *angry* hehe then i scolded him! he snored almost every night and I never once complained to him! :(

Anyway, since he complained.. i hope now he understands my plight. sleeping beside him is never a breeze... :) zzz zzz zzz I think i need more than 10 hours of sleep~!

this morning i had a cramp, luckily dear had not left for work yet, he was just beside the bed so he quickly massaged my leg for me. But he ended the call telling me that i fell asleep immediately once my cramp was gone. i felt like a pig... a moment ago i was screaming in pain, the next moment i doze off in deep sleep.. oink oink...

So far I have tried only Anmum Original and Chocolate flavour.
It tastes really blend and a bit heaty. The Chocolate tastes really weird.

As it doesnt taste so well, I took a looooong time to finish the free samples.. :)

NTUC selling ANMUM MATERNA MILK PWD - REG in 900 G.

The other brand that I have tried and love it, is Frisomum.
Its slightly sweet and diluted. It is said to have fibres included.

We went to see Dr Lim on tuesday. He informed me that I am slightly over-weight. Alvin just could not contain himself. He kept laughing and he told me that he is going to laugh at me for at least a month. I think he thought that by doing that I will cut down on my sugary craving. Dr Lim kept reminding cut down on biscuits, rice and noodles and to eat more protein like meat. I am also supposed to rest at least 8-10hours on the bed whether I feel like sleeping or not.

Baby is growing well. EDD stays at end Oct. She weights about 500+grams. Only mummy is over-weight. Daddy keeps saying.. obese.. and overweight means overweight. There's no such thing as 'slightly' over-weight... Dr Lim is just being polite.. haha..

Hmm... naughtly daddy!!! but still after the gynea visit, Alvin brought me to China Square where there is a traditional chinese confectionary shop selling green bean biscuits and other traditional biscuits. My favourite is their Ma(3) Ti(2) Su(1), I dont know what's that in english. I think it contains malt honey in the center. Their biscuits are freshly baked... My tummy is grumbling now... hmmm... (luckily I brought some to the office.. but it is finishing soon) I hope Alvin will buy for me when I am too heavy to go anywhere. But he is always against of me eating sweet stuff.

He forbide me to eat durain.. *angry* but I ate a few durain puffs last month.. that was so long ago... :( Aunt Catherine wanted to buy some durain for me but the malaysian mobile uncle did not turn up last saturday, he was supposed to bring us some durians. The durains he sells are very yummy, most of the time even better than those in singapore food store or geylang. I think his business is so good that he skips our office last saturday.

My tummy is really getting bigger unlike the beginning, I lost some weight and my tummy was not that obvious, I did not take any photo of it. Now it is bigger, maybe I will try to take a photo weekly.. keke.. next time can show baby...

This weekend, I will buy some hagen daz ice cream. Maybe tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake.. been having craving on strawberries. I tried very hard to cut down on digging into ice creams and cakes and I turned to make my own strawberry milk agar agar last weekend. I was supposed to make pudding but I could not find gelatine made from fish. So I used agar agar powder, it turned out too hard. I like it though. But my fuzzy cousin, Wisely and naughty bro, Andy says its too bland. I was not supposed to put too much sugar!!!! I think it was good enough with the strawberry milky taste... *drool*

Maybe this weekend, I will make Mango ones... gotta go to buy Mango puree.

confinement lady byebye

one fine day, my mum told me that she wont be able to help me with my confinement as she has to bring my youngest bro (now pri 1) to school and there are times, that she goes to the market. It was really stressful for me when she broke the news as I always thought that she'll be the one whom do my confinement for me just like my granny doing confinement for her.

Suddenly, I have to source for confinement lady. I went searching through the Singapore Motherhood forum and even sent enquiries to the agency(in case, I couldnt engaged any). Forced my hubby to discuss with my mum and dad as dad would not want a stay-in CL. (He opposed to having a maid as we are staying at his place we cant force him. therefore, I have to temporary be a stay at home mom. this is another side story...) As for my mum, she thinks that if engaged day CL, she might as well, do everything herself and save the $$$! But she was the one whom said she cannot handle!!!! then she suggested getting my granny to help out, at least she can help to take care of my youngest bro.

I was so stressful and the confinement agency keep calling me to follow up. I cannot give them an answer as my hubby was taking long sweet time to talk to my parents. Moreover, mum kept going to granny house to stay over. Dad seems to be only interested in his game and occassionally speaks of tying baby's hair when her hair comes out.

when finally my mum comes back from my granny house yesterday... my hubby spoke to her. to our surprise, she asked what made us want to hire a CL. she can help us. OMG!!! i think she got some memory loss. she was one of the cause that adds on stress to me and now she says that.

btw, hubby is working 3 or 4days per wk(due to his shift work) therefore he will be home half the month to care for me.. so he has to be my part time CL.. so nice...

anyway it is a GOOD thing. i have to pray to my Buddha... hiaz... thanks for making my wish comes true... and less one issue to worry about. haha...

by the way, i m expecting a baby girl this end of oct... and we are still very headache of deciding an english name for her. it should not be complicated and hard to pronounce as her grandparents will be calling them in a weird tone.

we wanted to call her Carrie. and my dad made fun of it by saying, "so next time, you will get the maid to carry Carrie? Doesnt it sound confusing?" so we drop this name...

then Alvin likes the name 'Amelia' but in the end, he read up and realised this name means "work hard, labour, hardworking". he does not want baby to grow up like a workaholic, so we dropped this name.

Fiona seems good to me, but he says he don't want his girl to be the same name as Fiona Xie. I like Celeste... of he gave the similiar excuse... Amber seems cute... He says there is no feel for this name. Ariel sounds cute too. He says hard to pronounce and he wants a feminine name for our little darling. Emily is out, as it has the same meaning as Amelia. Kimberly, Kim. NONO.. he has a aunt with that name.. Florence.. he dont like.

Somehow i am going crazy about this name selection thingy... he gave baby a new name each day... haha.. i guess little princess must be pretty confused by now...

I think worst comes to worst.. baby's name will be Jade as this was the first name I thought of. I already give up. Hahaha....

finally i get to blog about our baby terny whom is 8wks old in my womb.

one fateful morning, 3-3-08, Grandpa was sick hence mummy tern had to go to work by bus. Just 4 stop away from the office, mummy could not bear with the sudden wave of nauseous and giddiness. She decided to alight on the next stop. Therefore mummy ended up walking three bus stop to her office. It was a horrible day for mummy as her bosses were oversea and had to oversee many things in their absence. She 'braved' through the squeezy feelings but things did not change for a good turn. Instead she woke up feeling more unwell the next morning.

4-3-08, Mummy Tern decided to consult the GP. It went like this:

Doc: how are you feeling?
Mummy: bad. nauseous. vomitted. giddy. tired.
Doc: hmmm... anything else?
Mummy: actaully I missed my menses. It is usually late by 1-2wks.. is it important?
Doc: Do you feel... blah blah blah (what forgot what the doc says.. hahaha )
Mummy: yes, yes, yes... but i can't be pregnant right? Maybe I just gained weight... hmmm..
Doc: we better not take any chance. Let's test your urine.

*** mummy tern came back with her urine
Doc: this is gonna be very fast.
*** 1 min passed.. two strokes appeared from the kit
Mummy: Ah Ha!
Doc: you are pregnant.
Mummy: huh... (am i dreamin?)
Doc: you should be at 6th week. It is still very small. You have to make decision if you want to keep the baby. (he babbled too many things. Mummy just could not hear him)
Mummy: okie thank you. i will talk to the baby's father.

Well, the story went on like this... Mummy called Granny Sandy and Great Aunt Michelle.
Granny Sandy's response: Are you sure? then now you have to...... (as usual Mummy is too shocked to absorb)
Aunt Michelle: Are you sure? Come to office quick...

Mummy then smsed to Daddy and Uncle Patrick:
6th wk pregnant...

Uncle Patrick: are you joking? ......

No reply from Daddy after an hour, Mummy decided to call him.
Mummy: Dear ah, doc says i m pregnant le. now 6th weeks. how?
Daddy: Ah, I am going to be daddy??!

how come the family is more shocked than happy leh?

When Great Aunt Catherine called back from oversea...
Mummy: Good morning, you are going to be Great Aunt...
Great Aunt Catherine: Huh? *took some time to response* Oh... Good lo... good...

Poor baby terny.. seems like nobody welcome you... WRONG! Everyone is so elated now! Be good okie.. Mummy and Daddy love you!
